The Balkans parade as one: ‘Balkan Open Door’ turned Sofia into an international stage for fashion, culture and identity

On March 27, Sofia hosted one of the most significant fashion events in the region – “Balkan Open Door”, which took place at TENTA – one of the most modern event locations in the capital.

“Balkan Open Door”, organized by International Fashion Connection Group (IFC Group), is part of Code Fashion Runway – Bulgarian Fashion Week, organized by Code Fashion TV.

The event is realized on the initiative of Mila Zaharieva – President of IFC Group, in partnership with Maria Boneva – owner of Code Media Group. “Balkan Open Door” is an established format that connects fashion, art and cultural identity of the Balkans in a common platform.

The evening turned into a true spectacle, where fashion transcended borders and brought the Balkans together in a common creative rhythm.

Designers from the Balkan region, each of whom presented their own unique style and interpretation of contemporary fashion, walked the catwalk.

Bulgaria was represented by the fashion brand “Terry’s Fashion Style” with designer Terry Karaivanova, Turkey – by “Altinyildiz Classics”, Serbia – by “Anny STYLE: Noir Code” with designer Ana Pantić Račić, Montenegro – with “Shift Studio” by designer Ana Krgovic and “Sanela Design” by Sanela Djokovic, Albania – with the brand “SArté” by Sarita Gjini, North Macedonia – by Stefanija Naseska, designer of the eponymous brand, and Kosovo – with “Etnik Shala”, with designer Etnik Shala.

N. Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Bulgaria, H. Mrs. Inid Milo – Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as representatives of the diplomatic and trade missions of the Balkan countries.

The collections outlined a rich and multilayered picture of Balkan fashion today – from minimalism and contemporary elegance to bold conceptual solutions and modern interpretations of traditional motifs. Each designer told a story – of identity, cultural heritage and the new generation of creatives who are reimagining fashion as the language of the region.

A strong presence in the concept of the event is the newly created platform “Fashion and Art Hub – Balkan Open Door” – an international organization that aims to promote cultural exchange through fashion and art. The Hub brings together designers and artists from the Balkans, creating a space for collaborations, development and international visibility.

With each edition, Balkan Open Door strengthens the links between the region’s creatives – a place where fashion is not just shown, but experienced. An event that opens doors – to new ideas, new aesthetics and a more connected Balkan creative future.
